Description
TB-500 is commonly used for the acetylated thymosin beta-4 fragment Ac-LKKTETQ, corresponding to residues 17-23 of the parent protein. The name is sometimes used inconsistently for other thymosin beta-4 materials, so sequence confirmation on the lot-specific certificate is essential.
The LKKTETQ region has been examined in biochemical and cell models involving actin binding, cytoskeletal organisation and cell migration. Findings for the fragment should not be automatically attributed to full-length thymosin beta-4, or vice versa.
